Peak Pose Workshop at Ahimsa Oak Park: pincha mayurasana/forearm balance

This workshop will challenge and invigorate. A 90 minute session dedicated to strength, flexibility, breath control and focus. Geared toward students with an established practice, the workshop will explore a peak posture that requires sufficient time and preparation to access. Healthy Shoulders at Ahimsa Oak Park

Gravity, posture, repetitive use activities even yoga can cause less than optimal movement patterns in the head, neck and shoulders. This workshop will help students identify their individual postural issues, and provide specific strategies to both mobilize and stabilize the upper part of the torso. Geared towards anyone with a set of shoulders, yoga experience is not required, all props and equipment provided. Ashtanga Vinyasa Workshop at Ahimsa Oak Park

Ashtanga vinyasa yoga is derived from Patanjali's eight limbed path of awakening. A dynamic and vigorous practice, the ashtanga primary series provides yoga chikitsa (yoga therapy) by which the body is both cleansed and strengthened. Learn the ashtanga vinyasa yoga sequence, and explore techniques to regulate the breath, focus the mind and harness energy. This workshop is best suited for students with an established practice, props and modifications will be provided. Healthy Hips at Ahimsa Oak Park

Wether you are very active, or not, restrictions in hip mobility are very common, and contribute to a variety of other issues, including low back pain, knee problems, and reduced activity. Fortunately, there are strategies to address and improve the health of the hips. This workshop will identify the factors related to hip mobility, and explore methods to both open the hips and maintain mobility gains. No yoga experience necessary, modifications, props, and progressive sequencing offered.
